Hello from Texas!

Post by alandes » Tue Sep 22, 2015 7:51 pm

Hi there. Burning Man has intrigued me for years and I have decided to take the jump. I figured 2016 would be my year seeing how difficult tickets are to get.

I plan on trying to get 5-6 of my good friends from Texas and LA, plan the trip, and do it right. I will be interested to read the forum to understand how exactly to go about the process as a first time burner. Everything from tickets, flights, rv, bikes, food, water, anything else to bring!

Any suggestions/help would be MUCH appreciated!

Thanks

Welcome.

Sound advice!

In fact, prepare your Burn from the beginning in such a way that your friends' know-how, money or moral support is not mandatory to your success. Folks back out every year once real life intrudes and/or they realize what a commitment it is.

Hi Vinillaskyy, many people plan and then travel solo to the event. The first thing you should do is read the first timer's guide and the survival guide. Then start planning your trip. If driving, check into those details. If flying, check on cost of flights etc. You'll need quite a bit of camping gear.
The best thing you can do is set your mind to going and then let all the other details fall into place.
Welcome to eplaya and good luck with your planning

Welcome. You can't tell but we pretty much stay excited about the burn all year. You need to sign up for the newsletter. Jack Rabbit Speaks. All the dates will be in that. It comes to your email about once a month and then once a week as the event nears.

The ticket announcement comes a bit later. You can keep an eye on things here, but around January or so you will have a better feel for when they go on sale. Things change a bit from year to year, but you can figure to get yourself registered and ready to buy your ticket about that time.
