1st time burner from NC
Hey everybody. My name's Merlin and I'm from western North Carolina. I'm super new to this whole thing. Only just heard about Burning Man after the last one was over. So like mid september? I'm really hoping to go to 2016, but I'm probably going to be confused now and then so please be patient with me.

Welcome to ePlaya, Merlin. Start by reading the Survival Guide and suscribing to Jack Rabbit Speaks. Confusion is normal.

Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

It's normal to be confused and a little overwhelmed. Read lots--and skip most of the on-playa videos, unless you need to see how strong the wind can be on the playa, in which case I recommend you watch at least one. 
Before my first Burn I had two months to prepare, so you can probably swing it with 8-9 months, I swear.
