Hello Everyone

Post by Bruce Would » Sun Jan 02, 2011 8:46 pm

2011 will be my second burn. last year I went for the first time after learning about burning man in 2007. Burning Man for me was a truly profound experience. My only regret was not meeting more fellow Burners and I hope this forum will be a means of connecting with other Burners. I had no luck convincing any of my friends to go with me last year and this year though still early I'm getting minimal interest. Its hard to explain to people what they would be missing and that you just have to be there to "get it". Many of my friends are members of the SCA and enjoy medieval themes if anyone knows of an SCA or similar group that is active at Burning man Please let me know.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Welcome Bruce. You may try leaving this book on the table in your living room. That should generate lots of interest. There are oodles of books on this subject, but I like this one the best. Remember, you can lead a horse to water........

Welcome! Yes, you'll meet who you seek here...~)'(~... among many others...

Also for meeting local, burning man, new freinds, have you tried joining your Regional?
Seattle must have a fairly active one

I signed up for the "Regional Announce" email list(s) in my area(s) and I can choose what I like from the flow of various local burning man things happening

Most people don't get burning man, and the sca became more and more dull as "net savvy" people joined, ie people that never actually do anything.
Plenty of sca refugees on the playa.

It was more fun once.

You'll find that burning man makes most things really boring.
Just step up the game.

Hi, Doctor Nick!

I know that's not right, but it's as close as it's ever gotten.
