new ie and eplaya tribe? {:

Post by Vibes » Fri Jun 24, 2011 5:28 pm

Hey, I'm Lani aka Vibes. I'm from SF Bay Area but recently relocated to Crestline in the Inland Empire. I have not yet attended Burning Man, however, attentively plan to for 2012 with my boyfriend hopefully.
When I was living in the Bay Area I knew a lot of burners that were somewhat preparing me for next year, along with sharing common ground... I also frequented Burning Man style events...
I am now sad to say that I am away from those people and don't know anyone down here... or on this site for that matter...
In any event I hope to further my knowledge for next year via eplaya and maybe (hopefully) find people on here that maybe live down here, are down to hang, and maybe know of other S.Cal burner style events. Cheers.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

Have questions? Read this first: http://www.burningman.com/first_timers/
Everybody on eplaya is always excited to help first timers; but in sympathy for some of us old timers, please get your required reading out of the way before posting. As hard as it is to rein in the the excitement and enthusiasm, and as unbelievable as it might seem, most of your questions have already been asked and answered, if you just take a moment to read.

Now, let the adventure begin!

Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Be sure to check out the regionals page on the mainsite (burningman.com) and the regionals sub-forum here. I hear that the LA burners come from the LA/Hollywood mind set, but there are also groups in San Diego. (Which might be closer anyway.)
I think that one thing I've learned that creative interesting people who like to build things are everywhere. I don't know what guise they take where you are, but they are there and if you poke around you will find them...

Welcome! There's tons of stuff going on in downtown LA, Hollywood, Venice Beach, and Silverlake. I don't know of any groups out in the inland empire but there might be. You just missed lightning in a bottle but LA decompression is coming up in october.

Thanks! And yea, I checked out the calendar. Looks like there might be some stuff in LA or San Diego... both are a little far from me, but I'm sure something will manifest itself when the time is right. Creativity blooms in all of us in our own ways...

Aw, I know! I wanted to go to Lightning, but it was only a week after moving down here, so it wasn't really in the cards financially or time wise. I'll definitely be making it from Decom though. {:

Hey Lani!
Welcome to eplaya! You've come to the right place if you're looking for Burner friends. You will quickly find friends on eplaya!

Lani is a very pretty name, I would be proud to use that name and not bother with a cliche nickname.

My parents actually grew up in Crestline, CA. But that was 50 years ago. I've been there once during one of the family vacations.
