Thanks Ratty and all the other regulars who have put so much into making information available. Without you guys I either wouldn't be going or would be a very unprepared virgin. Nice bike.

Hi kids! I'm Chris, flying in from Florida to meet my partner in crime James, looking for the next level. Burning Man has been something that I have wanted to contribute to and become a part of for as long as I can remember. So here I come, the 35 year old peter pan looking for a good time, my turn ons include blinking lights, fire, copious amounts of warm water and silt. Do you feel me? :o

Welcome El Rey, You sound ready for a good time. Prepare and enjoy. See you in the dust.

Ulisse, It wasn't my bike. Schwinn Chopper. I recently saw one at the flea for only $100.00. That is a great price. Nope. Didn't buy it. Not practical at Burning Man. I don't go there to pose or show off. Still.........I want one!!

As a token of friendship, I'd like to introduce King Kai to a few new words that may prove useful someday out on the playa:
mealtime, dinner, after-dinner mints, breakfast, snacks, lunch, supper, brunch, and buffet.

Howdy. I'm Chris from Austin, Texas. This is my first BM and I'm flying solo so definitely open to advice, counsel and hospitality. I'm a handyman, team player, oldest of 8 kids, and avid sojourning knowledge seeker. Any ideas on a camp with Vacancy? I've head that being in a camp is the way to go. Carpe Creativity.... excited for next week! Cheers & Thanks, Chris

Welcome Chris, A little last minute prep? Have you read the survival guide etc....I camp alone and bring everything on earth so I'll be fed, shady and well rested. You are a bit late in the game to go looking to join a camp. (I think). Oh, what do I know? Welcome. Eplaya has the answer if you look around.

Hi, my name is Sean. I'm from Southern California. Last year was my first burn.

I first heard about Burning Man in 2003, and it just sounded crazy. My girlfriend and I started dating in 2012 and she was prepping to go on her third burn. I enjoyed listening to her talk about it, gearing up and getting really excited. Then she just casually mentioned that I could go if I got the time off. I worked extra hours for two weeks just to get the time off to go. Going has been a life-changing experience. (That may sound simple or even lazy, but explaining any further what the hell my first burn was like or what it has done for me seems silly.)
THIS YEAR, my camp from last year has become a theme camp - we're serving sunset coffee. We're Barechested Baristas @ 4'45 and C. One of our elders is a chef and has spent a lot of time getting our brew ready to share. Stop by.

It's crunch time. I'm actually typing this on the clock, two days before I leave for early entry (how appropriate, right?)

Welcome to eplaya, Sean. Sunset coffee sounds lovely.

That is a beautiful occupation.

Hello. How are you doing? I am a long time visitor to the Black Rock Desert, but still haven't quite made it to Burning Man yet. Had a ticket this year and other times, but the Evil Real World keeps interfering. (yeah, yeah, you've all heard that before.) I am one of those rocketeers that fly big rockets out there, I go almost every year to the BALLS rocket meet in late Sept. My first trip to Black Rock was in 1997, and since then we have had fun exploring all the hot springs, geysers, petrified forest, and other cool stuff out there in the desert. Us rocketeers always noticed the Burning Man clean-up crews each year, and referred to them as "those really dirty people".

I enjoy hanging out at Bruno's and also visiting the Miner's Club once in a while on our yearly trips.

I've been a long time lurker on eplaya. See you later.

Whats up, my name is Eric, but i hate my first name, "Eric's too gen-eric" 4 letters, 2 syllables...real boring so everyone calls me by my last name; Wages. I am a college student at Fresno State in Fresno, Ca where i play football and pursuing a BA in Business Management with a cert in special events. Originally born and raised in the Sac-San Joaquin Delta in Nor Cal (707). I love music festivals, sports, and anything outdoors esp water sports and anything on a board. i skate daily and have a passion for nightlife and being social. i work by night as a bartender and am also ex military. Next year will be my first burning man and Ive wanted to go for years and it is long over due. i cant wait to expand my family in the playa and meet lots of new interesting people as im sure this experience will be nothing less than life changing. #PLURlife :P

Hello All! I'm Tanja and live smack dab in the middle of U.S.A. in Missouri. I live on a five acre farm and raise chickens. I attempt to be environmentally responsible or at least trying at this time. I don't have any children but the "real job" I go to allows me to fulfill that "mother" urge that I do have. I heard about "Burning Man" just this last week from a high school friend who attended 2013 event. I had NO idea about what y'all were up to in the desert but now that I know "I WANT IN!!!" I have been planning and scheming for next year already. Been reading all the guides. I will be so ready(well as well as I can be)when Burners unite once again next year!!! I usually go to Las Vegas for vacation as much as possible...but..I would give that all up for living the experiences that you have on the Playa! So to close,I hope to meet and greet many of you I meet on here next year during Burning Man 2014!- Tanja

Tanja, Welcome. You are so lucky to have an entire year to prepare, (and make friends here on Eplaya). Las Vegas has nothing to offer compared with TTITD. (That thing in the desert). We'll get to know you here and meet you there.

Hello,
My name is Kelsey i'm from a tiny town in southern Michigan and I look very much forward to the 2014 burn as it will be my first! I recently just returned home from a 7 month stay in Miami and in Miami is where I found out about BM. I am 20 years old and i am only 4'11" with blonde hair and blue eyes. I twirl fire baton and recently picked up gloving. I am an adventenrus girl who believes in the power of nature and loving thy neighbor. I look forward very much to this time next year!

Welcome Jewelz and Kelsey, Jewelz, It shouldn't be hard to find the Burners in town. Start by asking the Sugar Plump Fairies. Tell em Ruth from S.F. sent you. Or you can just follow the trail of dust to their house.

Kelsey, You are so lucky that you have an entire year to plan and research. You'll be over-prepared like the rest of us.

A hardy Hello to both of you. Hang around here and ask tons of questions. There is a wealth of misinformation to be mined.

Hey yall!

My name is Anna and I will be attending BM 2014 for the first time with a few other virgins! I live in NYC and I heard about BM in an elevator going out of work. A veteran was telling me it was the most amazing experience he has ever had. Like a lot of people in NYC, I am a singer/songwriter. I love meeting new people! I hope to see all yall at BM 2014!

Best!

Welcome Anna, It's great to hear about all the first timers interested. NY seems like a long distance but people come from all over the world. Hang out here, on Eplaya, and get your questions answered. Do research. Glad to hear you're NOT a DJ or a professional photographer. There are about a jillion too many of those already. The man burns in about 355 days.

Climate March 2014 ---- Burning Man 2015!

Post by CMCourtney » Tue Sep 10, 2013 11:38 am

Hi! I'm Courtney. I haven't been to Burning Man man yet, but I do plan on getting there in 2015. Yep... I have to wait a year because I am gearing up for an adventure called Climate March next year.... it's going to take 1000 people from March 1st to November 1st to cross the country from LA to DC. Because I have so many friends at BM I have been advised a few times to reach out to the Burner Community. Right now we have a partner is who is doing a burning man style build on our composting toilet trailer!

I would love to speak with anyone who has any interest in marching with us, working on vehicle modifications and equipment builds (grey water evaporators, wind/solar), have some LNT experience to share, or just wants to know more about us can contact me here, email me at [email protected] or check out our website at climatemarch.org. Right now we have a partner is who is doing a burning man style build on our composting toilet trailer! Looking forward to getting to know you!

Thanks a million!
