Thought I'd drop in and say hello to all you lovely folks here. Im sadly unable to make it this year but I'm throwing everything I've got for me to go next year in 2020. Planning for an arduous drive with my late father's vehicle as I feel he would have liked to attend the event at least once.
I have been inspired to go from the myriad stories, audio, video, and photographs from burning man and I think it looks like such an incredible event. Of course I understand it's not all fun and games all the time and that it's a week long survival in the desert, just much more colorful. That's why I'm taking a full year to prepare for it
For all those going this year though, I wish you guys the best and hope to see n hear awesome stories from the dust, and you can bet your butt I'll be going next year for certain!

PS: One question has always bothered me. They say the gate opens Sunday at midnight, but is it the midnight when Sunday ends, or when it just begins?
Greetings from NY

Re: Greetings from NY
Hello Gadas, and welcome to the madness!
Gate opens at 12:01am Sunday morning. There will be a huge line of vehicles waiting to get in - don't think you'll be first, because if you get there too early they put you in "D lot" and you can be held there for hours, before slowly released back into the regular Gate line (first in, last out). Just plan on driving safely and arriving when you can, you'll still be in Gate line for hours before getting in. It's all part of the fun!
It's a camping trip in the desert, not the redemption of the fallen world - Cryptofishist

Hey there, welcome to ePlaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me
