I first learned of Burning Man in 1989 and I have wanted to attend ever since, but each time I tried life got in the way (family, finances, work, difficulty acquiring tickets, etc.). Finally, in 2021, I was able to attend Renegade Burn 2021.
I was actually a lone wolf out there; I don't personally know anyone who has ever attended a burn, and I didn't know anyone at RB'21. But I had done most of the research and I believed I was as prepared as I could ever be.
Everything went exceptionally well considering my lack of previous experience.
People talk about Burning Man weather being hot, but the mid-90's when I got there was a nice break from the Phoenix heat. I was less prepared for the 40-degree nights.
Thank you to everyone that welcomed me home. Yes, I was indeed home. And looking forward to going home again. Whether it be Renegade Burn '22 or Burning Man, I'll be there (barring ticket issues).
Thank you to the volunteers: Rangers, First-aid, etc. You guys are priceless. I didn't need any assistance while I was there, but I did see you guys at work, and it's nice to know you're there if we need you.

That's great news you had a great experience!
There are many burners in AZ you can find by your https://regionals.burningman.org/. They may be having meetups between now and Black Rock City 2022.
Feel free to search ePlaya - better with Google than the search box - site:eplaya.burningman.org search items
There is a lot of good info here on transportation, shelter, food, health, communications, and survival, from very experienced burners, not available elsewhere.

Glad you made it to a burn! And that it felt like what you had hoped it would be all those years. Hopefully in 2022 you'll have your choice of which to go to

Welcome!
Weather at was untypically mild. You can thank the Coast wildfires for keeping the daytime temperatures down and warmer nightimes. The smokey skies also kept the dust storms and whiteouts at bay as the diffusion resulted in less uneven heating of the playa.
If you haven't already done so check out these AZ resources:

Re: Hello from Glendale, AZ
My first burn was back in 2011... the next year a friend of mine turned me onto "Poly Paradise" an outstanding Camp, I have been to 8 Burns with them and have become some what of a core member helping set the camp up and attend Clean up days in Phoenix to clean up camp equipment and repack into Camp Daddy's garage. I have found a Great Camp run by Great People.
Life is all about the ride...enjoy it !!!

Hey there, welcome to ePlaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me
