Hi, I’m new :-)

Post by HollyWenzel » Sun Oct 17, 2021 12:32 pm

Hello there! My name is Holly (Hojo) and I’m 31 years young, living in Arizona. I work as an x-ray tech full time and when I’m not working I’m either painting, hiking, traveling, camping, going to concerts, or spending my time outside. I’ve never been to burning man but 2022 is my year! I can’t wait for what is to come this year... for all the unexpected, unusual, beautiful, rough, and weird experiences that Burning Man has to bring, and to bring what I can to it as well! And I can’t wait to meet all you beautiful people :-)

Welcome!

You are well prepared for a new life adventure at the Gelach Labor Day Regional campout!

You mention hiking, traveling, camping, going to concerts, and spending time outside. Burning Man is all that in a wilderness with 80,000 co-travelers for a week.

One of our ePlayans has a painting camp too.

If you camp in Arizona you are already prepared. The Burning man campsite is about 4000'. It does have a fine dust the consistency of baby powder that smells like ammonia which blows into camping setup, outfits, and hair. Expect it. Prepare to survive it.

Now is a good time to dig into ePlayan Mr Sham's signature block of information for new campers. That is good prep for questions like "I read X, Y, Z for new burners, but questions about Z" and "I couldn't find information about W".

Arizona is vast, but it is home to a "Burning Man Regional" you can find on the burningman.org website. They are not all the Arizona burners. They can be friends for preparation, transportation sharing to and from, and expanding your burner network.

In addition to Mr Sham's links, the ePlaya archives are a deep informed experience well of information.

It is better to search ePlaya by site:eplaya.burningman.org tent in Google search than using the ePlaya search box for tent, or your search term.

In my opinion, the Burning Man Labor Day event is one of the most opening and inspiring experiences for an artist.

Hey there, welcome to ePlaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me
