Greetings from (not so sunny) Britain

Post by Pallando » Tue Mar 15, 2022 10:37 am

I've always been a fan of Burning Man, although distance has precluded me visiting the desert myself. But, many years ago, I did help out some of the people preparing for one of the camps.

When I found out that, after the covid haitus, the physical festival is making a comeback, I felt I had to do my part in spreading the word.

So I made a sudoku puzzle. Feel free to make any use of it, or the image, in promotional materials or in forums where it may be a useful hook. Or, of course, just enjoy solving it yourselves!

If you let me know the best place to post it, I'll put it there. For now....

The festival lives again!

Burning Man

Normal sudoku rules apply.

Digits on thermometers increase from the bulb end.

Standard Sudoku rules

As a solver, your task is to place a single digit (either a "1", "2", "3", "4", "5", "6", "7", "8" or "9") in every cell in the 9x9 grid.

You must do so in such a way that every row, every column and every 3x3 box contains 9 different digits.

In the puzzle above, each coloured line is a different "thermometer". In the case of the big "X" shaped one which spreads out from the circle in the center, the digits increase in each direction (with the circle containing the lowest number).
