Hi everyone,

I am a 29 year old from Atlanta, GA turning 30 this year. i just discovered this website. I have never had the chance to attend a burn and am planning to go this year. I do not have a ticket but hope that everything can energetically align and I can purchase one. I plan on attending with a group of a mix of family and friends (all except 1 have never burned).

My first recollection of the Burn was in an episode of Malcolm in the Middle… has anyone else seen it? I have only seriously wanted to go since college when I had friends attend. I am a pretty pale person and have been a little deterred about attending because I am so pale. After doing some research online, I believe that it will be ok.

The biggest draw for me is the artistic community. I make art and dream of one day setting up an installation on the Playa. I looked into it this year but I think it is too complicated of a task to plan as I do not know the desert conditions and things that I need to keep in mind. I have a couple ideas on a table I can set up and do a 90s era throwback with a cootie catcher, SMASH or potentially temporary tattoos based on my art (If I can figure out how to do it while minimizing moop). My group is also thinking about making fun and unique specialty drink mixers for everyone.

I am a big planner and organizer and think that planning for this adventure is very exciting and I can’t wait to read up on the tips and tricks here. I am also interested in how we can minimize our environmental impact both in preparation of the burn and in in the whole event on the black rock.

I know that I haven’t had a chance to attend but I truly feel as though I will be going home.
