Popping my Burning Man cherry

Post by mismultiverse » Sat Aug 12, 2023 6:01 pm

Aloha all!

I’m popping my burning man cherry after years of not having the freedom or ability to do so. So long I had yearned (or shall I say burned?) to attend but work, family, and/or finances kept me from doing so. I’m now free with the golden ticket in hand!

I call Hawaii home but am posted up in Mexico until the week before The Burn. I’m passionate about sustainability, plant medicine, ecstatic dance, permaculture, nutrition, natural building and much more. I’ve been a professional chef for many years who transitioned into organic horticulture a few years back.

Burning Man has been appealing to me for so many years because it draws in the unique souls who dislike this consumeristic, capitalist, herd of sheep that we’re surrounded by day in and day out. I strive to live my life in a way that is radically self reliant and am happily on my way there. I’m looking forward to seeing all the creative setups and solutions that the folks on Playa come up with.

I’ll be attending commando as I’m not sold on joining any camps and am afraid of committing to any which may interfere with my sovereignty. I’m not saying I’m opposed to it. But, as a first timer I feel like it may be the best course of action. Maybe I’m wrong? I’ll add that if I did find one that aligned with me I’d be open to it. Considering it’s so close to go time I’m not worried about it. I’m experienced in solo backpacking which helps ease some of the stress that would normally come with this scenario. Albeit I’m sure I’ll miss the shower just a day into this adventure. 😅

Anyways, I’m so very excited to be a citizen for 2023! I’m most excited about experiencing the art, all the people I will meet, the mysterious nature of my unknown future on Playa, and dancing like a manic. Did I mention I love dancing?

So once again hello everyone! I can’t wait to meet you! 💚✨😍

Hello and welcome! Please get in touch if you have any questions. I assume you're done your reading homework and have some idea to properly prep.
The truth is more important than the facts.
I'm not an actor, but I've played one on TV.

Thank you! I’ve read and researched a ton. Hoping it all goes well. I’m also going into this with no major expectations. 😊
