my name is Dave ,I,m married to the love of my life Wendy we have 4 kids 17,10 5 and 3 weeks we've never been to the burnning man but we live in the Desert year round if anybody is going to tbm and going thought Blythe I'll share the driving and i just need room for my bike and gear the wife said i can go and I feel up to it this year so i hope to see ya there ....if i dont get a ride I'm going to ride my bike there :wink:

I am very happy to announce that I will be able to make it to this very special burn! the last 365 presented strong obstacles to overcome, and I had to use all my resources and abilities in The Force to overcome them. This has been a painful and daunting task. My reward has been my companion and Padiwan, Purple Cricket, for whom it has been a greatly enjoyable adventure !!
Thank You Most Graciously those of you who assisted me in my first Burn in 05!! To those of you reading this who are virgin burners, I strongly suggest that you follow the advice of those who came before, and ask long time veteran Burners for information and assistance. Now, let me say that as long as you are not going to BM with the "Whats in it for me attitude" you will naturally attract those who will assist you. Like begets like.

My luck runs deep around here, it seems. What a refreshing relief. Even my chosen name is free. I didn't even think to check it before I signed up with the other name longobord (which is related, but not what people call me).

Hopefully recovery will be forthwith so I can actually get out and talk nuts and bolts with other burners in the bay area. It's tough knowing there's so much going on around me but I can't participate due to mobility issues. But I'm getting better!

Well, since I can't make it to this year's Burn I thought I'd start working my way through the forums :) I've been Burning since 2002, mostly with Bluehouse and Shady (out of Seattle). I'm just now graduating with a Master's of Architecture degree and am working with a group of people on a website collecting amazing street art from around the world!

Hey. Joe here. Never been to Burning Man. Will be going this year on my own. Just started to process of figuring out everything I need to do. I've gotten as far as Leave No Trace and cover your tent stakes so no one breaks a toe. The rest I look forward to picking up. This emoticon is exactly what I look like.

My name is Claire. Never been to Burning Man. I can't go this year :( but I'm getting ahead for next year, because I've been meaning to go for too long. Too much talk and no action. Maybe that's silly, but hey, why the hell not?

Who am I? Good question. A college student in Los Angeles, English major, aspiring journalist/poet/starving artist. Mainly hippie, with doses of goth, anarchist punk, and poet. Crazy-passionate about music, working on learning guitar, and I sing. Addicted to dark chocolate, good conversation, vegetarian/vegan cooking, beaches, oceans, forests, and long-haired men (come on, you know you love 'em).

I first heard about Burning Man from two random hippie dudes while camping at Mammoth a few years ago, followed by BM stories from several other people that I met at concerts. I'd like to go to BM with a group next year, since I'm still kind of figuring out what this is all about.

Hello all-
I live in Cedarville which is 1 1/2 hours from BRC. I love this time of year because we get to watch everyone making the trek into the vast Nevada Desert. This will be my 3rd time at Burning Man, and I seriously cannot wait. The first time I went was with my parents...... and let me tell ya, you have to have some pretty open minded parents if you're going to share your Burning Man experience with them.

By way of introduction, I thought it would be noteworthy to mention that I was one of the first 500 people to see the Star Wars Premiere in Hollywood, May 25th, 1977. So this is my 30th year of following The Force!!

Which day do you fly in? There is a group staying in Reno at the Sands (check out the thread Layover In Reno). You can certainly catch a ride from there, but if you are ready to leave when I pick up a passanger, maybe we can make room in our RV. As long as you don't mind being surrounded by about 1000 Barbies.

I saw the very first showing on the first day it was shown in salt Lake city. There might have bee 50 people in the theatre. And, no one believes this part, it was shown in 35mm!

I met Dr Pyro briefly at BM 05. I strongly endorse him as a good guy burner,
and if you REALLY wanted to get a ride with him, bring a Barbie doll or better yet dress like one!! I honestly believe you would have a great time with a truly bizarre yet safe Burner!! Here's to you, Dr Pyro!! (JediDale does his flying flaming double staff moves)!!

We are passing through Reno Sunday morning, probably around 9:30 or so, for early arrival; will stop either at the Little Nugget for breakfast or Nixon for an Indian taco, and be on the playa by 2.
