Too late to camp?
Too late to camp?
Trying to find a camp to join for my third trip to burning man. It's been five years since I last attended and most my friends can't make it. I know I'm late in the game but I'd really like to join a camp or group of folks for the week.
I'll be traveling from Oakland and would like to be there all week.
I'm laid back, got some common sense, into community cooking/camping, clean, respect the party scene but also like to retreat from the chaos. I'm 31, gay, atheist, educated...
Let me know if anyone has some suggestions!

Prowl the theme camp forum and read up on what's available. Then there's always stag camp. They pretty much go out and grab solo campers, and force them to--
Wait. That's not right. That's Enforced Involvement in Pep Rallies Camp.

well you might try the get involved thread. But I think just picking a spot near a larger, possibly themed camp should do the trick. You sound like a perfectly lovely campmate, and many of the larger camps adopt neighbors.
Our camp is a bar. We've considered getting volunteers and campmates off eplaya in the past, but never have. We've heard horror stories, and its hard enough figuring out if people you've known for years will be good campmates, let alone people you've never met. But once we're out there, we inevitably meet a neighbor or two that we bond with and adopt. If we do it, I'm sure others do as well.

from where are you originating?
could be cool. any more info? where are you guys coming from? how big is the group?
We are mostly from Reno/Sparks, but we have a couple coming from San Francisco. We are an amazing group of open minded, very friendly, mostly female (this year) diverse group. We run a bar out there, we have some wonderful showers that we are happy to share!
This Woman: our wonderful boys from a few years back were found right here on the eplaya...and we loved them (and their you-know)

No addy yet. We have registered in the past, but won't again. We will put our name and addy with Playa Info when we get there...hoping to be around Dart/Edsel and 3:30 to 5:30. I visited Apokiliptika a couple of years ago. I'll definitely make it a point to stop in and see Jelly and the Kernel.
