Marching Bluegrass virgin

Post by *Greg* » Thu Feb 19, 2009 6:41 am

Hi All- This is my year for BM. I plan to have few plans and go with the flow of BM. I play mandolin and guitar- bluegrass, blues, country, and also a marching band snare. Where can I best meet others who play acoustic music till their fingers bleed? Any marching bands need a drummer? With this post I begin my journey to BM. If it makes any diffeence I'm 62.
cheers

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Oh, you play bluegrass. No point inviting you to hang out in Kentucky.

Welcome to the madness. I know of two approaches: look among people who already share your interests to find other burners (you could be surprised.) or find out what burn-type activities occur locally and look there for folks who share your interests - There are some regional burns in the upper midwest (US) this summer.

Or, if you are a glutton for punishment, you can start playa-pluckers.com and build your own community. A more practical solution would be to search the forum here for "acoustic" and contact some folks. I see people asking pretty regularly, but I haven't seen a good answer.
