Last weekend I was in Elko for the Biker Jamboree.

One of the booths was selling "Indian tacos"

The fry bread was thin and doughey, like a funnel cake from Jersey.

I threw it in the garbage after just a few bites.

I could go for some good fry bread with honey. Best I ever had was at the Yellow Horse trading Post on I-40 on the AZ/NM border. Yummy. We're too tired to stop after the event, heading into Reno for a shower is all we can think about, so I've never tried the ones on 447.

Poke me to experience my gooey insides!

We had a good experience at Save Mart (formerly Albertson's.)
They charged a reasonable fee and took all our recyclables as
well as hooking us up with water pre-event.

Now if only the Tribe would sell Portuguese fried dough...

Just wanted to put in my two bits for Indian Tacos.

We love 'em and we get 'em every year.

I always stop at the Gymnasium on my home from the playa and get tacos and sodas. I like helping that community. :)

Many years ago, I was a med-tech working in a traveling well-baby clinic there. My greatgrandmother was Quapa. I got stuck doing all the heel sticks on the babies, I made them all cry.

The babies I made cry may be serving me, or their kids might be helping me. Time flies. I learned a lot traveling around to all the Northern Nevada Reservations that summer. I became a medical/surgical nurse later on. :)
