Hello e-burners! My name's Phil, I'm originally from Seattle, but currently traveling around Europe for a spell. Going to the burn for the first time this year! With a theme like Evolution...come on. I can't pass that up. Many of my friends have been and based on the experiences they've shared, I know this is the right time for me to go.
I'm taking a three week "break" from traveling to go to Burning Man, but when I resume in mid September, I'm heading to India. Now I've been told that for India, one really doesn't need to bring much of anything, so at the burn I plan on bringing everything I own in the world (fits inside a large travel backpack) and bartering/trading/giving it away, leaving the playa with only enough to fit inside a small Jansport-esque backpack. Feedback from experienced burners & travelers would be appreciated. I am sure I can take anything that comes my way (what's the worst that could happen
) but to make the next few months a better ride, you know, preparation doesn't hurt.As for getting to the playa, I still need a ride from Seattle. Can a brother get some good ride-share-websites up in this mug?
