Looking fwd 2 a nice burn - it's chilly in silly illy Philly

Post by KIRKWORX » Wed Feb 17, 2010 3:48 am

Hey All!

This will be my first adventure to the burnzonez.. I am an airburner (not in the non-ecofriendly sense of the word - I don't think?). I am an airbrush artist. I will be using CO2 or low-energy/hi efficiency air compressors to airbrush everyhting.. especially people..

I will also be returning to my camping roots, as I grew up camping form age 4 in San Diego and haven't enjoyed the big outwest thing for over 20 years..

I should have gone to this gathering years ago, but it's never too late..

Anyone else from Philly going? Hit me up.

ALL PEACE & LOVE,

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Hi KirkWorx,

Sounds like a good gifting idea. I saw a friend really come out of his box after getting full-body painted one year. I think it was a really transformative experience for him to let his guard down and still be fully accepted into a community.

Friday night of that same year I met the fellow who painted him, completely by chance, way out in deep playa by the fence. He just sort of wandered up out of the dark and asked to join us. The way I found out it was him was that he told me a story of a guy he’d painted earlier in the week who had asked for a very specific design and how, as he painted him, you could actually see the shift in attitude and the positive effect the experience was creating. So much so that it made a deep impression on the gift-giver as well. When I told him that it was a friend of mine who was the subject of his story and how much it had meant to him to receive the gift, it became a very cool full-circle moment of the gifting economy…

…on a dusty sofa in the middle of the desert.

Welcome to Burning Man.
