Hello my fellow Burners!
Hello Burning Man community, I'm new to Burning Man but I do plan on attending for the first time this year. I'm insanely excited! Is there any advice anyone can give a new Burner?

Welcome Pandamonium! There are a million great tips all over this web site.
Can lysol wipes go in the porto potty? If you body makes lysol wipes you'd be a huge hit on the playa.
A clean pisser isn't the only interesting thing you could follow ygmir to.ygmir wrote:or follow me........I clean and disinfect the seats with lysol and leave it nice for the next person.

Elliot if possible I'd like to get a tour of your bus! I read and reread your "Skoolies 101" (I think was the name) considered it, and found my self yet again short on funds at the moment. 2010 will be intentse in tents again for us, but I have extreme plans for 2011!Elliot wrote:I use an old school bus myself. It has a shower and toilet now, but still fits the "home-made" atmosphere of the event -- while being wind proof and carrying a lot of Art And Stuff.

I'm there! There was camper in a drive way by my college that had different states painted on it, to fit like a jig saw puzzle. I asked they guy why he had like 15-20 of the states, he said it was all the states he's been to.Elliot wrote:Bring paint (and skills) and help cover "Millicent" with murals!
It could be cool if you make a big outline of the US on the side of the bus. Then people can sign their name for the state their from. Or it might be really tacky! Just an idea.

Right now she is kinda intimidating! looks kinda like a jail bus. Or a transformer, or like a ninja death squad dressed all in black is about to roll out the back on black rice rockets. Definitely friendly needs a paint job.

It is official: We have now totally highjacked Pandamonium's thread.
I have several different surfaces on Millicent; original school bus yellow (with black stripes), my own white paint on the "forehead", factory white paint on the new wall sheets, bare aluminum on the rest of the wall sheets, and bare steel and aluminum on the tailgate. I intend to sand the yellow and cover it with white. And I probably ought to primer the bare aluminum. Not sure what to do with that nice factory white paint.
EmilyD, I'll PM you for advice. Thanks!
Edit:

O man, I think Millicent should have a face! The windows are half way down just like eyes, and naturally the grill will be the mouth, or a mustache.
How crazy would that be to see a big face rolling up behind you when your driving down the highway?

Yes, the face idea has come up before. We could paint a mouth on the bumper -- that would be a good start. But I cannot decide what to do with the headlights. If the windshields are going to be the eyes, then the headlights need to disappear. And the windshields would need paint to become good eyes, which we could not drive with.
I suppose I could move the headlights up near the windshields, and paint eyes around the lights, but moving the headlights would be a lot of work.
Suggestions -- sketches or whatever -- welcome!
