Can Not Wait To Meet New People. Anybody need a bartender?

Post by msmit275 » Tue May 25, 2010 11:39 am

Hey guys! My name is Maxwell and am a first time burner. I am looking to meet a ton of individuals at BM. I have been in the bar industry for over 5 years and was wondering if anybody new where I could fit that part of my life into BM? I would also be up to help anybody with any other fun new things i don't know about. Let me know if you have any fun ideas!

Didn't you get the e-bulletin?? Burning Man will be a sober event this year. Everyone is on the wagon!

I hope to see you there anyway!

Oooookay, sorry, sorry..

Really, Welcome to ePlaya! If you want to go to bars.. I'm sure you'll find them, if you want to work in bars... I'm sure you'll find a way to do that too. (but sometimes that's a more selective camp duty so you'll have to prove yourself worthy!) For me, Burning Man is a chance to do things I can't usually do in the default world.
It was better next year. -Burners

Everyone's a bartender at Burning Man!
Don't bore your friends with all your troubles. Tell your enemies instead, for they will delight in hearing about them.

The Golden Cafe is a great daytime bar and now and then they can use extra willing hands. Usually washing dishes, they serve in their own glassware so cleaning up is a good way to get to know them. Then you move up to bartending, if the timing fits.

ha... your funny about "the wagon"! I actually don't plan on drinking a whole lot. I do however, LOVE interesting people.... and as I have found that being behind a bar attracts unordinary yet awesome people to you.

Whats your game plan on getting involved?

I, personally, homebrew beer. 2008 I brought my own setup and served my own supply.. great way to meet people. 2009 I joined up with one of the big homebrew camps on the playa and added my supply to theirs. It is a great way to meet people. I like doing it because it's fun to discuss something you made yourself. Even people who don't know ANYTHING about beer will gladly talk about what ever they do know if they realize they are talking to the magical bringer of alcohol. They sometimes mistake me for a god, I can turn water, grain, and hops into alcohol.. precious alcohol... Really, that's Gods job, he's another brewer with another camp. I hope he'll be with Homebrew 4 Homebrew again this year. ;-)

PS: I usually don't drink either. The playa is a harsh environment and booze takes it's toll on you. I like the social setting but I'm not really a drinker myself.

Ain't it the truth. If you want to meet people, bring alcohol and mix to their bar theme camp. Always appreciated. The two most valuable things on Friday are mix and cigs. But the cigs, some chocolate and nyons will get you laid. Easy.
