Hello from Vancouver Canada, another newbie

Post by Van.Pebbles » Sun Jun 06, 2010 10:48 pm

I have heard about Burning man a few times over the years and been curious but when I heard about it this time something inside me started to sing and I am planning the trip.

In the last 3 weeks since I decided that I had to go and experience it I have met over a dozen people who have been to BM including a couple of lovely women from SF and am getting some amazing advice and tips.

Still not sure if I will fly down to Reno a few days early and figure things out from there or find a caravan from Vancouver or Seattle; if I will camp solo, in a community or in a theme camp; go solo or have friends join me. The only thing that I know is that I have an open heart and no expectations but to meet some amazing people.

I am a spiritual person, love my crystals, am very sensitive to energy and dabble in energy medicine, been told that I am an indigo adult or crystal child but at the same time fit into regular society very well.

I only started to embrace this side of myself in the last 2 years and it has been one heck of a journey. At 34 I am just trying to figure out how people like myself can have a positive effect on the crazy world out there and figure that through the chaos and craziness of BM that I will meet some like minded people.

It feels so right to be on my way to this magical experience.

Wow, well, I'm glad you've talked to some people. It is very helpful to hear from experience. It's also very informative to read, and reread, the First Timers Guide and pretty much anything in the Preparation site at burningman.com . And remember, there will be a test. On the playa. Welcome.

Hook up with local Burners in Vancouver...there's tons! Check the Regional contacts: [email protected]. Try to ride/caravan down...road trip much more fun!
Don't bore your friends with all your troubles. Tell your enemies instead, for they will delight in hearing about them.

I'm relieved to see there will again this year be a Canadian presence on the playa.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me
