first timer

Post by torn1990 » Wed Jun 23, 2010 12:00 am

Helllooo. This will be my first time going to Burning Man. I am unfortunately going alone so far, which is what I am planning but it would definitely be nice if I could find someone to go with.
I'm pretty much in an awkward place in my life right now, but I bought this shiny ticket and have made the decision that I. must. go.
Regardless of me being underprepared due to my state of happiness right now. But i just turned 20, and I am inneed of some escape--

SO YES-- if there are/is any kind, welcoming someone(s) in my lovely area of plastic people that would invite me into some rideshare business I would definitely like to discuss that further with that person!
To describe myself in some form: i am quiet, and very modest!

I am biting my lip as I bravely and shamefully send this out on to the forum, but I really want to have a good time. I am not intimidated to go alone if that happens, but I really would like to go with some stability. A fun, intelligent, art invested liberal mate would be splendid. (wow this isn't match.com or anything but take that as you will)
I had friends I was going with prior to purchasing this ticket, but that kind of flopped.. Obviously, i'd rather not go into detail on here.
Can't wait for my first burn whether or not this begging for rideshare company plan produces any results. : ) see you on the forum.

Hi torn...

The west coast is thick with Burners so I'm betting that you'll be able to find a ride with some cool people at some point. Hang around here and keep an eye out for the rideshare board. They should be up soon if they are not already.

Let me go look...

(dig dig dig)

Aha!! found something that might help! Try this link:

Hang out and get to know the place. Be sure to read the First timer's guide and all that good stuff, but don't discount the merits of making connections on eplaya. My first year I was going alone. Then I met a fellow on here in my area who just happened to post and we wound up riding out together, meeting up with some of his friends. Fast forward a few years and these people have become a very good and enriching part of my life in numerous ways. We've all been riding out together for years.

Welcome!

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me
