Hello from the Minnie Apple

Post by Bohemianrhapsody » Mon Jul 05, 2010 9:15 am

Five time burner, first time poster.
Wanted to put my presence out here after lurking here for years, although I'm not fond of the word "lurck" beacuse it sounds creepy. I'm not creepy.
My boyfriend and I will be driving the 36 hour journey ourselves this year (Thus far.)
Looking foward to some adventures. I'm vacillating between being thrilled to go this year, to being a bit hesitant. For all the amazing thrills in Black Rock Desert there's also the jaded side of me that sees the yahoos, the MOOP, art stolen, etc.
I have to remember, Burning Man isn't a dream world (although at times it seems so) Its humans with all the good and bad that comes with all our DNA. Just like life, it's what you make it.

See ya on the playa!

Cheers!

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Welcome to eplaya.

There used to be a large number of Twin Cities Burners on the board, but they seem to have moved along in recent years. At one time they met up at Bob’s Java Hut on Wednesday nights, but I’m not sure if they still do that or not.

Might be worth a try.

Thanks! It's about time I introduced myself!

LeChatNoir, yes, I'm aware of the large Minneapolis burners contingent! I used to hang with them on a couple occasions at Bob's Java Hut a couple years ago, and have camped with several in the past. You're correct though..the Twin Cities burners forum has been quite silient as of late and sadly, it seems we all went our seperate ways over the years. This happens..things go in cycles. It will be interesting just driving and camping with my boyfriend this year. I think I'll miss the camaradiere of my fellow Minneapolis campers, but looking forward to meeting new people. 8)
