1st time Burn Long Time Camper…
Hello and thanks for having this board.
Excited to be going… not sure I have to take all the worst ever camping scenarios serious… I read and printed 43 pages of camp supply lists.. only a couple things were not in my mind. I’ve snow camped, camped in sun baked volcanic beds and in the desert.
But I guess I will find out if I’m wrong….
Started my spread sheet for items.. have a couple paper ones too i haven't added in.

Working on a couple posts but don’t want to post item here and get dinged by cross post fascists.

Hey boss, tried to check out your nifty spreadsheet but your Google isn't set up for it to be viewed by "everbody"!
As a quasi-compulsive spreadsheeter, I'd love to take a look, just in case you've got something listed I don't!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Feathers of any kind are right in the survival guide as a no-no, very first item on the What Not To Bring list; maybe if she knew this, she'd change her plan. Information is a good thing, sometimes better than shame. But shame is good too, LOL!griffen wrote:agree on feathers and cheap fur... but the girl added em all i can do is gently shame her when she moops.
Fake flowers MOOP pretty badly too. If I use them, I glue the hell out of them, then beat them against the wall. If anything falls off, I leave them at home.
Plenty of choices for camp decor, we paint and print art panels and sew flags and use solar lawn lights of all shapes. I wear battery operated LED lights. Stuffed animals doing obscene things... and so on....
Lace works in almost any situation.

If she continues to insist, then let her wear it in camp for a few minutes and send her after each bit that falls off, and then hit her with "wouldn't you feel like scum for making some volunteers spending hours in the hot sun picking up each bit?" questions.AntiM wrote:Feathers of any kind are right in the survival guide as a no-no, very first item on the What Not To Bring list; maybe if she knew this, she'd change her plan. Or not, because maybe even letting her wear it for five minutes is too much permission.

After year #1 I now leave my french press at home. YMMV, but I found the used coffee grounds just too messy to deal with, and cleaning often used precious water.
If you have a 110 volt power source go with a drip coffee maker...toss the filter easy. If no power consider the Aerobie AeroPress Coffee/Espresso maker (http://www.espressoparts.com/AEROPRESS? ... 5052455353)
...thing is absolutely amazing! IMHO it makes a better cup of espresso than a naked barista!

Don't bore your friends with all your troubles. Tell your enemies instead, for they will delight in hearing about them.
