I will share my advice here.
I assure you, that you will start to feel at home on your way to BRC as you're driving down Route 447. You will meet people at the Empire Store and by the time you get to the dirt road into Burning Man, you'll feel liked you've lived there all your life.
People are very friendly, and no matter where you camp, the neighbors will welcome you and offer helpful advice.
Have no expectations. What you have in your mind, is nothing like what you're gonna find.
As you drive home at the end of the week, you will be planning in your head what you are going to do next year.
Oh, and WELCOME!

Welcome jonwells.
There are folks from your area that go to Burning Man. Most I know are in Louisville, but I've met some from the Cincy area as well.

And make sure you read the First Timer's guide over and over. Please be careful on your trip out. And have fun.
See you in the dust.
