First Time Park City Utah Virgin Burner . . .

Post by Tengerguy » Fri Aug 27, 2010 10:11 am

Been thinking about doing this for over 15 years and am finally going!

Bought my ticket this morning, packing my small RV this afternoon/weekend. Heading out from home (in Park City, UT) Sunday afternoon or early Monday.

Was planning to find a quiet (relatively) place to think, write, meditate, pray, etc (for a few hours each day), but then saw the Utah Theme Camp . . . 9pm to 9am LOUD music, I gather . . .

What IS the Utah theme camp? Plenty of space/place for prayer/reflection.....and there are chill camps that are offering just that. Just in case you want other mellow campers around;

Don't know if this helps as it is lengthy in investigating

You can either camp in the streets further behind, or go visit a theme camp, or even take a trek out to the temple and find some shade and spend your time there.

>>What IS the Utah theme camp? <<

Just noticed there's more than one -- the first I noticed was BASS CAMP --

Looks like the LOUDEST theme camp at BM.

I'm thinking I'll let serendipity guide where I camp -- just look for a spot to park my small (20 foot) RV when I get there, and then meet the neighbors. . . . but am also tempted to pay the extra $50.00 to BASS camp for a week's electricity. If the weather were forecast to be a lot hotter, I'd lean more in that direction. Forecast looks like mid 80s day and low 50s night . . . what do you think?

They've got some competition for loudest theme camp but they are located where it is designated for that in the 2:00 area.

Are you registered with Bass Camp? Unless you absolutely need them, do you have a generator? Dunno....maybe a bit of "playadipity" might be in order for your first time.

If you stay with Bass, make sure you have earplugs and your bicycle and even a nice sun umbrella. Really...... pack your water, umbrella and bike out to the playa, find a nice piece of art and spend your reflection time out there when it's cooler (early am perhaps).

Have an awesome first time......

Theme camps are not mandated by geography. I have californians, nevadans, utes (utanites?), conneticuteers, and random in mine. The village also has PDX and Texas. and more I'm sure. Heck, we still have a brit.

So, maybe you want to camp based on something else. And at this date getting into a camp is difficult. Camp where you find room. And meet the neighbors.
