Virgin Burner now, but wait till 2011! Hi everyone!
Hi everyone! I had the misfortune of missing this years burn (although I watched the stream and felt like I was there, minus the dust  ) I tell you this, I cannot wait for next year! I'm planning already! It'll be an experience of a life time for me. When I lived in Cali I would see things about BM on the local news! And that was 20+ years ago! I wanna get out of the default world!!
So introduce yourself to me!! Help me get to know some regular burners as well as virgin burners!

Check out the Civilized Explorer site, Burning Man pages. http://www.cieux.com/ loads of links, and lots of handy information. Also Alternative Energy Zone http://ae-zone.org/
Both of these PLUS the Burning Man Survival Guide (required reading)
were very helpful to me my first year.

Welcome! I have known about BM for several years and 2011 is going to be my first burn as well! I have already done quite a bit of planning and have a small group together to go. Preparing seems to be a year round project.

Hey Roundtuit! I see that it does take a whole year to plan! So much to do! What to bring, what not to bring, bar or no bar, clothing, shelter, food, PPE, water...and the list goes on!! But it will be an awesome experience. You going solo? Joining a camp?

Hi MaryAnimal
2010 was my first burn and I'll be back in 2011. It does a lot of prep, but I started in the spring and was ready in time. You'll love it! The toughest part is waiting til the actual event starts. It seemed to take forever for the end of August to arrive.
Everyone I met on the playa was great, welcoming and very real. It is an amazing place.

Hi existential_renewal! I started a small list in August of things to bring. I;m starting with the survival aspects first. I have a few ideas for swag to give away, however I want to make something that people can use and enjoy. I know it will be a totally bitchin experience!!

I plan on going solo. From everything I have read so far it seems to be the best way to go the first year. You?maryanimal wrote:Hey Roundtuit! I see that it does take a whole year to plan!
