Good questions Crypto!
Also make sure you know their expectations of you, as in how much time each day/night are you required to be part of their vision and not setting out by yourself to find YOUR BURN!

Our camp has that balance, but it took us 2 yrs to get it right.
Names pinemom, but my friends call me "Piney".

That man had some very helpful advice for me, which I have had good luck with ever since.
And what, pray tell, was that advice? Some folks, who still have difficulty with that maneuver, would like to know.
Don't bore your friends with all your troubles. Tell your enemies instead, for they will delight in hearing about them.

No I do not dare  you got that exactly right, ma'am, so I am real glad you threw that out here; somebody saw that :) and all y'alls questions, and sent me a private answer. So I thank you very much, really; I would never have had the nerve to look a gift horse in the mouth like that.

About parking:

"Never look back! Cut in hard until you see two headlights in your side mirror, then cut the other way." Works great, especially when the vehicle behind you is properly parked. Must be different parking dragons, huh? :)

But which mirror??? Yours or the passenger's?

(living in a small town with no street-parking allowed, and several years from having last done this manoeuver, I embarassingly have to ask.... just in case....)

He kept it hid And so did she.

Then passed right by- And never knew.”

And what if you see two really, really big eyes in the mirror?

Hit the gas quick! Objects in mirror are closer than they appear.

Please forgive the internet necromancy here, but, I just found out my youngest HAS been accepted to art school for the fall, woo hoo!!! So, yes we can turf him off to college in late August and be FREE!!!

(why is there no smiley that turns cartwheels???)

Ha ha ha no I love my kids.

But right now I have to throw a six-pack of PBR in my bag and head off to this regional meet-up meeting thing up the street here: "Burning Man For Beginners."

Remember, 2010 was my first year and I went alone.

This is the cooler. Used a deep cycle battery that lasted all week and reduced temps by 30 degress. Whisper quiet as well.

Temp difference when testing.

The playapod. For sleeping, napping, or getting out of the dust. (Had to use a blanket during the day as the cooler work that well.) :)

Made to take apart in 10min. to still be used as a utility trailer.

Shade test.

The nieghbors had no shade.

So think outside the box and be creative. No one believed it was my virgin year.

The nieghbors on the other side were the "Do it yourself abortion clinic and back ally cinnima."

They bought 500 plastic fetuses from a rights to life group and injected each with a jello shot.

People would come in off the street (men and women).

They would cut the fetuse in half with a cleever, (I named this horrid insturment Beaver Cleaver) then they had thier choice of knitting needle, hanger, or straw to get the shot out!

Thier camp was suprisingly popular!

At night they showed movies on the side of thier box truck.

This was a small part of my BM experience.

Plan ur burn, burn ur plan.

Figjam, that is all just awesome.

I came back from this "Burning Man for Beginners" thing with my head full of Gucci-gear day-dreams but you remind me that the whole point of this exercise, for me at least :) is to get out there and meet you amazing people.

And have some fun. 8)

I know that blank stare well. It was the middle of last semester and I hadn't got my loan or grant yet. I asked my Dad if I could borrow half months rent till the money came through. He looked at me and said, "Well if you hadn't spent $500 on the damn Burning Man thing!" I looked at him dead serious and said, "It was more like $1000...can I borrow the money or not?"

He loaned it to me.
