a need a friend, or two.

Post by oopsieluxxx » Fri Apr 08, 2011 10:45 pm

 This year (2011) will be my third burn [08 & 09] My family from previous burns has drifted apart for one reason or another. so i guess what i am getting at is i'd like to make some new burner friends and or families. and hey, maybe even get adopted before this years burn.. :D I am new to eplaya so forgive my ignorance if that is what you're feeling from reading this. I just need a little guidance as to how to stay in touch and up to date on all festival events so i can volunteer and or do my part as best i can. Sorry for the endless rambling post, as you can see, clearly i am lost.
i love all of you and beyond!

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Hi Oopsie!

I'm told there was a Camp Oopsie last year. :) They gifted tampons.

If you look at the forums underneath Introduce Yourself, you'll see that there is a forum for regional events. Look for Burning Man events in your area, and if there are any, start attending & making friends. (Google your hometown or state with "Burning Man" or "Burners", too, and see if you get any hits.)

There is also, you'll notice, a forum about 2011 Theme Camps. Look there and see if there is anyone with interests that fit yours.

If all else fails, go solo like me.

But I only do that because I don't get along with people very well

I imagine you'll make 50,000 new friends pretty quickly, or maybe a few Internet-based ones here.

Well what if you toned it down to "Moderately Evil Brian"? I bet that would help...

Hi and welcome.

I'm confident that you'll find a new family ....
For regional event, you should tell us where 're from (coz i doubt to be able to help you ..)

Just guessing here, but I think English might be Lowz's second or third language, where French might be more familiar and he was just helping with the language?

Maybe that's because the novelty of using slang has you add giddy.

No worries about the energy, I get a good vibe from your words. This year (2011) will be my first burn and I am also looking to make 58,000 new friends! Any advice for a newbie? :D
