Jack-of-Many-Trades looking for Camp or Village

Post by dustyroads » Mon Jun 06, 2011 7:25 pm

Hey All -

This is going to be my 3rd burn (also went in '09 and '10) and I'm looking for a Theme Camp or Camp Group that I may contribute my talents and enthusiasm. I can certainly do menial labor but my forte is really in mechanical and electrical things. I'd like to arrive early and help with set-up.

A Bit About Myself:
--------------------
* Power Tool Compatible - give me an power drill or circular saw and tell me what to do!
* Mechanically Inclined - can maintain or repair many kinds of small machinery
* Electronics of almost any sort - from wiring amps and lights to soldering circuits; electronics is my RL career
* Pretty good as a kitchen assistant
* Easy going, all-around good guy, no drama, self sufficient
* A trad. Irish flute player
* My 3rd burn, so I know what it's about and how to plan

What I'm Looking For:
---------------------
* A camp of spirited, energetic and creative burners
* Early entry pass to arrive for set-up
* Space for a standard 10' hexayurt
* A meal plan or communal food plan would be a bonus

I'm excited about possibly being part of a camp group this year. If your village or camp could use a Jack of Many Trades, PM me here on ePlaya and let's talk!

Here's the thread about joining camps.

The early entry is going to be difficult. Most camps don't get as many as they want, much less spares, and what they do have is going to go to proven workers, with unknowns off the internet getting scraps, metaphorically speaking.
Plus, they don't come until August. So, there isn't a lot of lead time.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Welcome!

Besides for what Cryptofishest said about early passes, which is 100% true.
Seems like you're on a good path to finding a camp. There are plenty of camps out there that need another Jack of All trades.
