Hello and welcome to ePlaya! Best place to get the basics is on the Burning Man home page. Then start with the first timer's guide and survival guide (links on left side of page). There's a theme camp section too, and you can peruse the lists from past years to see how many and how diverse the registered theme camps can get. The theme camps board here can give you a look at how the theme camps form up, talk up their plans, and in some cases recruit new members. There are other sections as well, covering most other aspects of planning for the event (makes for great reading and research as well). You may also want to check out the regionals section on the main site, there are some pretty active European burners, and may be some things happening closer to home that are within your reach between now and when you get to the playa.

Cheers!

Erm.... I meant you dirty-roots....whom I shall just call jkisha from now on to help add to the confusion.

So, yeah, welcome to the eplaya board. :) But, regardless, of whether you are able to go this year or next year, this place definitely has A LOT of good information on it.
