Greetings from California
Hi, I am, believe myself to be, presume to be, appear to be, and answer to the name Bree. I hail from Southern California and don't own a single pair of shoes (flip flops only). Although I'm assuming I will NOT be going to burning man in 2012, I am interested in the culture, as we all are at one time. I may not be much in the sense of an artist, but I have the heart of a volunteer and the heart of a listener. My gift is that of storytelling. I had hoped to volunteer at burning man as an EMT, and also as a lamplighter. I've waited years to make good friends, I can wait a few more. I look forward to learning about the community in the following months.

Hi Bree!
Welcome. I hope you pick up a pair of shoes sometime soon, & break 'em in. Then, if you suddenly get to go to the Burn, you'll be ready. You might be one of the lucky ones who don't get Playa Foot (some of us are a little resistant) but if you're not, you'll want something that wraps your foot just in case. Actually, starting the week with your feet covered & seeing how the rest of your skin fares is a good way to go.
Consider filling out the volunteer questionnaire even if you're not sure if you're attending. It's not the same as choosing shifts (that's a June activity) or guaranteeing you'll be there. Answering the questionnaire just indicates that you exist & have interest.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Welcome Bree! A wandering storyteller would be a marvelous addition to BRC.

Bree,
My husband worked the event as an EMT. This is the link to the volunteer questionnaire. No harm in filling it out now and getting on mailing lists. There is, I think, a second part that EMS would fill.
