Another First Timer! From Reno

Been wanting to go for several years now, so excited that I get to go this year.

And old newbie (!) but really want to get in an experience BM. Once I figure out the theme camps, I would be eager to volunteer to assist and since I live here in Reno, it would make it easier to go early to assist.

I work for a software company - training and writing training guides.
My hobbies are cooking, photography, hiking, technology, and exploring new things.

And, of course, I am one of the people who wants to know everything about something as soon as they have committed to it, so I have been eagerly reading survival guides, preparation tips, and anything I can get my nose into.

Hoping to meet many of your and become a full fledged burner!

hey there! i will be a first time burner this year as well! (assuming i get a ticket) but i am from reno as well and am the same way in that when i get into somthing i go all the way! i have been interrested in burning man for years. i even did my senior research project on it. but this year i am making the commitment to actually go! i have friends that have gone several years so i will have experienced people with me but i still go through every piece of writing i can about it. i hope to see ya out there!

You should seriously consider signing up for BOTH Reno regional lists (if you haven't done so, yet) I have a strong feeling you'll meet plenty of burners and discover many art projects and theme camps that could use your help (and be fun for you too) and on and on.

this may not be the correct place for me to post this. but seeing as this is my second post and this is a welcome area i figured someone may help me with a few questions? as i said above this will be my first time. and i picked a bad year to start seeing as the ticket situation i have seen so many complaints everywhere. but i have been on unemployment for almost a year now. if i can provide information proving this will it get me into the low income draw??

and also what is the regional list you mentioned?? even if i cannot go i would love to participate in as much as possible outside of the actual event

If you can prove your low income to a decent ability, yes--this will put you into consideration provided you fill out the application. The details of the process will be posted Wednesday, February 29th on the main site. Wouldn't hurt to gather your financial documents together now if you can.

Thanks! I feel welcome already! Yes, I've signed up for the regionals and some volunteer projects, camping in Hushville. Question, do I need to raise my bed off of the floor of the tent?
