Birgin from NY
Hey everyone. I'm a 26 yy from NY. I am busily planning and sponging up everything eplaya can give me. Oh and by the way, these forums rock!! I am going to share something with you guys, I have never been to the desert. Since I can remember I've wanted to. The vast space intrigues me. I really feel blessed to have gotten a ticket in the lotto system. I am really psyched for seeing all the great art out there on the playa. I am honored to be attending and can't wait to meet all of you! <3

Welcome to eplaya.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Welcome!
Read the survival & first timers guides on the main Burning Man web page.
Also dig into tips n tricks on eplaya (and a whole bunch more, suuure can be interesting, and then some...)!
If you're flying in be ready for dry heat (might begin drinking extra water a day or more before you hit the playa) NY humidity isn't something we're known for out here.
Most of us add electrolyte tablets or flavored electrlyte powder (Vitalyte) to our water, can order it online.
Please don't be reluctant to PM someone if you have a specific question(s).
Usually some of the veteran eplayans will bump relevant threads as the burn draws closer (we hope)! I don't know them all but there's some that truly do a bang up job!

Hello & Welcome, Littlemissmyc.
I like your trippy, sun-dappled avatar.
The more reading & research you do, the nicer people are here about answering the hard questions. But if you've lurked a little here before posting, you've probably seen that . . .

Re: Birgin from NY
Hi!! Hello! Thank you all for the greetings.
I'm glad now that I overcame my usual shyness and introduced myself.
Moonrise: I will be driving. My partner and I are pulling a small tear drop trailer. We are planning to camp independently. The electrolyte powder is on my list. thanks.
Simon:
I'll take your advice into consideration. I'm TOTALLY accessorizing.
Savannah: I have been lurking, how'd u know? some of these posts crack me up. I haven't thought of a BM question yet that I haven't found info on or the answer to. Thank you, I like yours too.
