Greetings from New Jersey!
Greetings from New Jersey!
Hello everyone!
This is my first post on this board and I'm a little intimidated, to say the least. Yes, I am a virgin burner as is my boyfriend. My cousin has been to Burning Man the past two years and has described the experience as "indescribable". Needless to say, I was intrigued. I have read over the Survival Guide but am still a little nervous (I worry and tend to over plan, I can't wait to get to the playa to relax, enjoy, and experience!). My boyfriend and I are looking for a camp to join, as well as any tips from returning burners.
So, I hope to hear from everyone soon! Have a great night and see you on the playa!

Welcopme to eplaya.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Hi Tiffany! Planners do great on the playa, provided they can bend without breaking.
I'm a worrier and a planner, too. But yeah, once I get there, it's easier to let go.
Keep reading ePlaya, and while doing so, I recommend skipping our "Search" function in favor of googling a keyword + eplaya, for example:
goggles eplaya or
contact lenses eplaya or
house rules for RVs eplaya
That's usually enough to get some handy results, but you can also narrow it to the site itself by clicking More results from eplaya.burningman.org » first.
We see a lot of the same questions every year, but people tend to be nicer about answering them if we can tell you've searched first. It means you're more likely to take care of yourself out there too, and be a good neighbor.
Welcome . . .

Welcome to the fun Tiffany! I kind of wish I was more of a planner. I am a virgin burner as well and have learned a lot of great things from this site.
Savannah,
Great tip on searching for things on eplaya. I wouldn't have ever thought of that.

I got mugged in New Brunswick once and ended up in Middlesex County Hospital. I hope you're not from there.

That's alright. In my heart I'll always know that Simon thought something that was so snarky he couldn't let it cross state lines without involving DOT.

Oh, I know. Just thought it might be a good idea for the first time. Gives me a way to be social right off the bat. =)

Nope, I'm from Vineland.

It's in that area that's brown at the bottom labeled "Pretty Much Alabama". Meh. I wouldn't mug you! =)

Re: Greetings from New Jersey!
The reason so many New Yorkers are always so pissed off is because the light at the end of their tunnel is New Jersey.
That map is great though.
