Hi Tatonka!
Ticket Information will probably be here, but not for a few months yet:
http://tickets.burningman.com/
In the meantime, I highly recommend joining the Jack Rabbit Speaks email newsletter so you can get announcements:
http://www.burningman.com/blackrockcity ... lists.html
They're not really weekly announcements . . . more like every 3-4 weeks in the off-season. Towards Burn time, they do increase in frequency.
Welcome to the board!

Re: 57 year old virgin here
Ticket sales were complicating and aggravating last year. At this time, we do not know if tickets will be sold in the same or a like manner as last year (2012, that is). Then we had a couple weeks to register our names and how much we would pay and we'd get contacted if we got tickets through the drawing. Keep your eyes on this board, and on the main burningman site and maybe sign up for "Jackrabbit Speaks" the news letter the public affairs team puts out about once a week (depending on time of year.)

Re: 57 year old virgin here
oh, the cooler thing would be an eplaya joke...
attendees range from 'I'll eat only dried fruit and MREs for the week' to 'We need a refrigerated truck to take care of our camp food'... both equally viable, just opposite ends of the spectrum.
note* My personal guess is that most only do the MRE/dried fruit thing once...

Welcome. And do bring a cooler - warm beer is so much less pleasant (although not undrinkable on the playa).
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Hey Tatonka! Welcome to Eplaya!
Really don't listen to either of those last two guys! They don't know what they're talking about.
Just stay clear of beer all together.
Stick with shots of liquor and your favorite canned soda. That way, it really doesn't matter if its warm or not.

Re: 57 year old virgin here
Typically the holiday pre-sale happens in December, and the other tickets sell beginning in January. I guess we'll see!
I'm glad you added yourself to the Jack Rabbit Speaks newsletter; it will tell you everything. No doubt 2013's sale will be different from 2012's.
Any info you see right now is from this last year's Burn.

Re: 57 year old virgin here
The truth is...
No one knows nuttin'.
(if they do, they're not talkin')
Since last year's ticket sale(s) were such a mess, we're fairly certain (and hopeful) that the system will be different.
There has been no information disseminated about this year's ticket sale process,
so we don't know.
but we're happy to speculate, oh yeah!

I always consider this time of year, after the burn before main ticket sale, the "Burning Man Off-season". Cause once tickets go on sale everything will get super crazy and start the 2013 Burningclocksnmirrors wrote:Savannah wrote:Typically the holiday pre-sale happens in December, and the other tickets sell beginning in January. If there is a pre-sale, I expect it to be swamped. After last year's ticket traumas, people are going to be going after the surest, earliest thing possible, rather than gambling on something cheaper.tatonka wrote: so if there is a pre-sale in dec , anyone is sure to get a ticket at the higher price ?

thks all , got my 1st e-mail from jack rabbit speaks
, cant wait for the one to buy tickets ")
Had another question , was on a bike trip this year and went thru gerlach on Sat. a couple of days before the opening of BM2012 . We stopped at the res and got some fry bread and talked to the ladies there. They said by Mon. the lines would be all the way back to the res . We seen many Rvs and such headed in already ( must have been art people )
Then I read in survial guide that you cant arrive early and wait at the gate. Is this true? and what is a good time to arrive ? If I got a ticket I would like to get there early and be up close in line. thks

Re: 57 year old virgin here
Exactly, don't be early, you get thrown in detention and held for a few hours. Count on 3-5 hours to get in, no matter what, if you arrive at a high-traffic time (Sunday or Monday).
Here's the most recent "When can I arrive?" thread.
http://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic. ... 1&p=848203
Note: In 2013 we don't know if the event will open at 6pm on a Sunday, or 12:01am on a Monday. More info will be available later. However, at least the last two years have been a 6pm Sunday open, with varying degrees of publicity in advance. This year, everyone knew about the 6pm entry. The year before, it was rumored, until very close to the event . . . (same with the year before, if I remember correctly).

tickets and a cooler are both very necessay for your 2013 BM experience. But you can buy the ice on the playa. It is easy and really really fun when you get it! Go Artica!!!!
