Hi everyone,
I am a traveler from New Zealand who's on a one-year self-discovery trip in the U.S. and Burning Man is something that I must be a part of before I head back to my hometown. I am currently living in Key West, FL and I will be flying to San Francisco on the 22nd of August to check out San Francisco for a couple of days then heading to Burning Man from there. I have just started planning as I have just got my ticket from the OMG Sale yesterday. So far I am still in the process of looking out for other solo Burners to camp with and for rideshare as well as helping out with gears and supplies, as well as looking for an existing group that could accommodate me. I have seen many posts from people who are in the same position as me (solo burners planning their trips now as they have just purchased their ticket from the OMG Sale) so it would be great if I would be considered. I am also a part of the CouchSurfing project and you can find my profile here https://www.couchsurfing.org/profile.html?id=UM21VEA
Looking forward to meeting you all!
Wendy

Hi Wendy!
Be sure to check out the Burner Express bus from Reno to the Playa, google the Green Tortoise (they run a bus from SF to the playa and have a camp with basics) and the 2013 Theme Camps thread. Several camps are still looking for people. Each camp is different, dues vary, as do the amenities. Choose carefully. Camps don't check "Introduce Yourself" very often, so you'll have to chase one down, but that's normal.
Tell them what you're good at, and why their camp specifically appeals to you.
You can also go alone if you're an experienced camper and like a challenge. I've camped "alone" before (neighbors a-plenty) but admittedly I had more than a month to prepare and several years' experience at the time.
Congratulations on your ticket, and welcome to the board!

Hey Wendy,
Are you still looking for a ride and place to camp. One of my friend had to cancel the trip due to last minute work. I will be camping at OSIRIS camp, he has a reservation at OSIRIS camp too which you can use. I am planning to drive solo from SFO, buzz me if you need more details. This is my first burn, totally excited !!!!
Regards,
Harish
