Kentucky Virgin in 2014

Post by HLP2014 » Mon Dec 09, 2013 4:27 pm

Hello everyone,

I am Anthony a photographer in Northern Kentucky who for years has wanted to attend but, of course has not. My stepdaughter just attended and the fire is now raging.

So 2014 it is Burning Man or Bust for this Kentuckian...

Looking forward to one awesome experience...

Thanks,
Tony

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Hi HLP2014! Yep, for some folks, it takes a number of years for things to line up to be able to attend the event. I'm glad this is shaping up to be your year!
..and welcome to eplaya

Thanks everyone,

I am trying to learn and have started ideas rolling for who, what, when, where, and how for Burning Man 2014.

For instance - I just learnt and let me know if I am mistaken Mojojita ....

But, if I brought the Whiskey would I not also need to bring the pickle juice - For a Pickelback?

LOL... Think my first experience with that should most definitely be on the playa...

Have to say, there is still a lot of material to read for this solo wantabe...

Welcome.

Yes, you'll bring pickles, which are one of the four playa food groups;
then have juice for the requisite picklebacks.

Oh, and bacon.

Thanks Mojojita - Thanks for messaging me back so fast and with your reply - now I really can't wait knowing that many new friends will be there... lol...

gaminwench -I am curious as to what are the other three staple foods groups on the playa and yet I am leery as to inquire - Why bacon? lol...

I mean I just learned about pickleback, hope there is not a baconback - That really don't sound tasty to me... Ha Ha Ha...

Bacon is partly the general bacon meme that's swept the country, and partly that it's salty. You sweat, you need to replace salt.

Just don't let anyone persuade you to do the bacon/vodka thing. I hear it tastes awful.

Bacon popularity = fat, salt, and a little protein, all of which are valuable in that environment, if not necessarily in that order.

When planning my playa meals, I prefer protein, salt, THEN fat--because it can be hard to work up an appetite on the playa, so every attempt at a meal must count, and keep me going even if I don't ultimately consume a huge amount.
