Hello

Post by Viridian Diamond » Tue Sep 02, 2014 11:59 pm

You can call me Viridian Diamond. Artist. Painter. Observer. I am miles away in Minnesota. I have yet to go to Burning Man and I am itching to loose my burner virginity. On top of the midwest festivals I've been too, It was Lightning in a Bottle that really opened my eyes to transformative festivals. I love the art, I love the people, I love the desert. I really want to go to BM 2015 as a gift to myself for finishing 6 years of college. However, terrible things like my car breaking down, on my way to get a new car I get a scary bill from my Dr. office..The stars are not aligning currently. Tickets sold out in 44 minutes this year, that scares me for 2015. On top of bills on top of bills on top of bills, but I would love to work on a theme camp or rub someone's feet, or do a lot of weird stuff to go. I have dreams about Burning Man, one day, I will collide with the insanity that is Black Rock City...

Hi, and Welcome. I understand that fear of not getting that ticket. Hang in there. You've been through a hell of a winter last year. I'm originally from Michigan and I know how those go.

Don't believe everything you think.

Hola and hello...

Stick around, contribute to conversations (when you feel like it), make contact with your regional burners, take the snark in here with a grain of salt and you may make some great connections!
Oh my god, it's HUGE!

Hello Viridian Diamond!

Save your money (a bare-bones, shoestring Burn can run in the $1,000-1,200 range and up) and join the regional groups around you (your state, and nearby states). If you don't get lucky in the main sale, you'll find that Burners like to sell to other Burners, friends, acquaintances. And meeting locals is just a great way to make friends, have fun at smaller events, and meet rideshares.

Welcome to the board. :)

Thank you guys ^-^ I think after I graduate in December I will just save my money for an entire year in hopes of making it in 2016-2017 with more money for gas and supplies, and the drive. And yes it was a rough winter, -20 degrees for multiple days at a time, my car wouldn't even start, snow up to my knees, it was bad. but, thanks again I managed to find a burner regional event here in Minnesota !! :D

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!
Elderberry

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me
