Taylor from Washington DC

Post by taylordc » Wed Jun 17, 2015 9:20 am

Hello! My name is Taylor and this year will be my first burn. I hail from the Washington DC area. Coming from the East Coast, I am still trying to decide which is the best way to bring my stuff. I've recently connected with my local Burner Community which has given me a ton of great advice/guidance. I have yet to join a camp though (looking to join one). I'm hoping this year will be a positive expirience with memories to last a lifetime!

Taylor welcome to eplaya. All the trouble to prepare and get there is well worth it. (I guess thats why people do it year after year.) There is a thread recently posted here that has a few hundred camps listed. Start browsing. Or you can just go it alone and see what happens. Welcome. Hang out and do research. Tell jokes. Laugh with us or at us. Can't wait to meet you.

Hi. Welcome. There is a ride share board as well (though it seems to be down at the moment). It's often surprising how many people share rides from distant and not so distant locations. It's a great way to go. Check it out if you'd like...

HI Taylor,
My name's Saphira and I read your post. If you are looking to join a camp I wanted to extend and invitation - we're full of lots of domestic and international folks. We build and maintain our camp each year with everyone's help. If you're still looking to consider a few camps, check us out at campcyberia.org (you can reach us there for more questions and get a feel for our camp too). 8)

Best to you!

Wow, wasn't that easy? Kudos to you for stepping up, Saphira. The plug and play camps and non-radically inclusionary camps haven't taken over the world yet!!

Welcome.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Hey Taylor from Washington DC!

Me too, and if you are still looking at this - you should check out the Mischief group on FB - little decompression thingy going on this weekend with a lot of the DC burners!
