planning ahead!

Post by FatElvis » Sat Aug 22, 2015 12:05 pm

Hi! I'm a prospective 2016 burner looking to get lots of information so my first burn is an awesome one!

I've been doing survival camping since the 80's so I'm totally into those aspects of playa life, and I am the sort of artist with zero technical skill but zero shame in just making what I want to make anyway. Hopefully I can find a camp full of fun people who appreciate those qualities. :D

Welcome to Eplaya.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

You sound fun, FatElvis! Welcome. :D

I highly recommend you meet local Burners and attend your regional "Decompression" (post-Burn event), hopefully you'll meet some like minds.

Welcome. Tell us a bit about yourself. Where do you live? Where are you from? Getting involved with local projects is a must. The burner community burns bright all year. You may find an art project, camp or volunteer job that appeals to you. Prepping for next year starts almost immediately upon return from the burn. Make connections=get tickets. I'm glad you're thinking ahead. The anticipation is part of the fun.

Hi FatElvis!
Welcome. It's never too early to start planning and scheming. Be warned though, once you start it pretty much becomes an obsession --- a good one to have, but obsession none the less.
Go ahead and empty out a guest room or build an additional shed in the backyard....you're gonna need more space!
