Unlucky-but-driven Virgin

Post by Aldream » Tue Mar 29, 2016 8:30 am

Greetings everyone!

After haunting this forum the last weeks, seeking information and confirmations, I guess I should present myself.
I'm Aldream, aka. Bill. Stray Traveler, passionate Photographer, urban Explorer, festival Goer, nerdy Student, happy Minimalist, society Rethinker, symbol Wearer, ethical Gourmet, list Maker, pub Crawler, and finally - Cliffhanger.

For a long time, Burning Man has been for me the distant symbol of an Alternative.
An alternative reality, every year for a week. The other side of the mirror - down the rabbit hole - made accessible. A colorful, shimmering village far away from daily routines, where you can express your true Self, dance with Others, and build ephemeral palaces. A week-long Dream, from which you wake up younger and wiser.
But also an alternative society. A showcase for a lifestyle which reconnects Mankind and Nature. An emulation - followed, imitated, reproduced, developed around the world - resulting in a network of Communities, transcending cultural and social backgrounds. A model which puts mindful Freedom and boundless Compassion at the center, inspiring individuals to become active agents of better worlds.

It's probably too romantic a vision, but I'm fine with it. Goa festivals, rainbow meetings, peaceful demonstrations, etc. have already shown me how surprisingly beautiful we can all be.

With just the right amount of friends to be enumerated on a single hand, we decided that this year would be our first one as Burners. The little green guy tried to convince us otherwise - denying us any ticket - but he underestimated our drive. We/I will get our/my tickets for sure, to meet ya'll this summer around the Man Who Burns.
(in the meantime, please bear with my ticket-less virgin-ness)

I look forward to sharing and caring here.
Hugs,
Bill

Welcome Aldream. Good luck on your ticket search. This is one instance where the diligence pays off. Chase that dream a little bit everyday so we get to hug you in person. Mahalo

Welcome! Your reasons for going are pretty deep. Mine, not so much. I just go for the free beer.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me
