Looks like I forgot to do visit the greeter station.
I first heard of the burn in 97 from some DJ buddies in San Francisco. I was in NC at the time. I’ve known it was something I can’t not do. When I lived in Socal for a few years I was broke and had a dog, so I could never make it. Moved to NYC and eventually started a family. Now that the kids are older, 10 and 12, I can take a week off and do what I’ve been dreaming about for damn near 20 years.
I’ve been properly researching for the last few years. During the burn I would listen to BMIR and I would check weather.com a few times day to live vicariously through technology. I felt very sorry for you bastards last year when I would wake up on the East Coast and see is was in the low 30s in Gerlach. Of course the flood of pictures on IG and FB are always a joy to see.
Preparing has been the most fun. Once I scored a ticket I got many provisions I had stored in my Amazon cart. I’ve really enjoyed figuring out how to program LEDs via Arduino. My kids think I am a genius for making a “dog walking hat” they cycles through the rainbow. You can see it from hundreds of feet away. No darkwadding for me!
I’ll be with a well-established camp that several good friends are tight with. Starting my art-gift project this weekend (I do stencil art and screen-printing). After I build my shade cover and swamp cooler, I’m afraid I will run out of things to do to prepare. My kids are interested in making more LED wearable’s so I guess that can keep me busy.

Welcome Leap. No. You'll never run out of projects. There will be 10 things left for next year. See you in the dust.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Thank you. I am flawed like everyone else but when I do something I do it with passion. I hope they find their passions.Lash wrote:Cheers for all the badass dads in the world!
