(Hopefully) burning this year :)

Post by psycelium » Mon Apr 04, 2016 10:22 am

Hi there all of you!

I am planning to come to BM for the first time in 2016 but I was too late for the main sale so my plans are a bit messed up now. :(
Apparently a waiting line was opened 15 minutes ahead of the sale? My hopes are still up for the STEP program, being positive always helps so I'm sure I'll get a ticket :D
Don't really know what to say about myself, I guess I'm a pretty relaxed and open minded person. I'm 33 years old guy from Belgium, still feeling 22 most of the times though. I love traveling and learning about other cultures. I'm very curious about almost anything I don't know yet, this always makes me end up in nice(weird) places and situations. Somehow I always meet interesting people everywhere I go. Instead of thinking and dreaming about stuff I tend to just go for it and experience it for myself.
I have been thinking about going to BM for many years but always something came up, longterm relationship, work, money etcetera... Since I'm single now and got time off from work nothing is stopping me anymore( except getting a ticket )
What I like about the burning man philosophy is, no matter who you are, what you do or how weird you are, you're all okay. The self-reliance and leaving no trace concept is what every person should strive for in daily life. Because most people don't actually do that I recently started to go back to school to get a bachelors' degree in ecotechnology. I hope to provide solutions that will have a positive impact on our environment to people and companies . I probably won't be able to change the world, but that doesn't mean I can't try.
My plan is to check out the festival this year and meet some people to see if and in what way I can get involved more. I want to help out in any way this year too if I find a camp site or a project that can use my help. But I think that won't be easy.
Advice is always welcome...

Enough talking about me now, people who want to know more are free to ask me or meet up on the playa in a few months!

I wish you all the best! Please wish me a ticket ;)

Xo

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Welcome
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Welcome, psycelium! :D

Good luck with your ticket! Make sure to make packing and shopping lists, tell ALL your friends and family you're looking for a ticket, and don't forget to ask for your time off . . .

Welcome Psycelium.
I want to help out in any way this year too if I find a camp site or a project that can use my help. But I think that won't be easy.
Oh contraire mon ami. It's no problem to help 24/7 once you get there. Bring gloves and sensible shoes. You can join in setting up camps, holding poles while they assemble various structures, carrying, unloading and then helping them drink beer. Good luck on your tickets.
