What's old is new again - Hola from DC

Post by TkPkMoCo » Thu Apr 28, 2016 8:46 am

Heading to BRC for the first time this year.

I was recently introduced to burns by my friend Ann_Vader and went to FireFly '15, Transformus '15, PortalBurn '15, WDNB Family Weekend '15, and FrostBurn '16 as part of White Dragon Noodle Bar (WDNB). This year I'm ticketed for FireFly, Ignite!, Wickerman and BRC.

I'll be camping on playa with IAMU and helping with their electrical setup. I'm also looking forward to volunteering at 88NV!

BC (Before Children) I was an annual attendee at Bread and Puppet in upstate VT in the '80s and '90s and attended a regional and national Rainbow Family gathering in the late '80s.

When I returned from my first burn (FireFly '15), it truly felt like I was coming home to a band of misfits. Only this time around they all had high tech and propane. It felt just fine!

If you're in the DC area and we haven't met, drop in to Local 16 some Thursday evening and say hi or hit me up on FB @ Giuseppe Takoma.

Ha!

G is my burn buddy!

We've done a bunch of regional events together, and with White Dragon Noodlebar. I think I took G to his first burn, and convinced him to do Frostburn with me. We are neighbors as well. I'm really looking forward to going to the playa together!

Welcome tkpkmoco! It sounds like you are in 'full emersion' mode. All burn, all the time. Love it. I'm going to pull a shift out at the airport too. I'm committed to Census this year and looking forward to it but I want to spend at least one shift with Meathunter. (My buddy that I never see in person.)

Lucky you having Ann for a neighbor and a playa mate. Be yourself only more so. Come meet some of us at the Meet & Greet on Wednesday night at 6pm. Barbie Death Camp and Wine Bistro Village. Barbie for short.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me
