What up what up. First timer. Prolly getting up to BM about 10 years past what I had in mind, but then again it's exactly the right time. Originally from the Bay, but driving from LA which has been my residence for a minute now. I'm totally unprepared, but at the same time just hyped to go in with an open mind, open arms and see how I can contribute with my meager abilities.
I feel like this is where i've been destined to be my whole life.
Question: How does one acquire a playa name? Is it something that is given to you?

Maybe you'll receive a playa name, or maybe you won't. You could even choose a playa name by just telling people a name of your choosing, but it's probably more fun and "authentic" to receive one.
Some people don't have playa names. I don't, even if I get called by my forum nickname at Meet and Greet. Maybe I'll acquire one some day, but it isn't a huge priority for me.

Playa names are best awarded after some sort of caper, mishap, or shocking hijinks.
That said, you may introduce yourself however you like.
