Hello From New York

Post by Emperorswordman » Sat Jan 07, 2017 5:26 pm

So, I first heard about burning man many years ago while watching Malcolm in the middle, sometime later I found out it was a real thing, but recently I've been looking into it and got serious about going. I wouldn't be able to come this year sadly since not only stuff will come up this summer, like my high school graduation, moving, getting my first job, not having the money to go, ect. But next time in burning man 2018 I'll be there with my brother and possibly a friend if he comes.

Welcome Emperor. It's good to start planning so far in advance. Is your brother and friend youngsters? You will be over 18. Will they? I love kids at the burn but most of them travel with adults.

My brother is the same age as me, and we're both 18, but I think the friend is 17. I'll be going on 2018, which means we'll be 20 since my birthday is in July, turning 19 this July. The friend should be 18-19 when we go, if he does go because it's unlikely.

Welcome, Emperorswordman! :D

Since you've got more than a year and a half, you have an excellent amount of time to prepare. You mention needing to save up to go--note that you'll want to count on saving at least $1,000 to $1,200 per person, if you're doing it on a shoestring. (It can be done for less, but not much less.) How much you spend really depends on whether you're driving or flying or bussing, and from where, and what camping equipment you own (and how much you can borrow or buy for cheap, off of friends or relatives).

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me
