We have tickets for our second Burn - 2017
My wife and I attended our first Burn last year. What an experience!!!
We are advanced in age - 68 yrs old - good health - live for new experiences.
I have personally worked in 15 countries and 39 states. Overall, I have had the opportunities created by refusing to be pigeonholed into any specific lifes work. I have always believed in the concept "The journey is more important than the destination".
Early on, I served a plumbing apprenticeship. continued on to college, after graduation trained in construction management (side business as a pipe nipple manufacturer), left and became a tech products salesperson, transitioned to ASME design & fabricator, Operations Manager - Pharmaceutical Freeze Dryers and Fermenters, Project Manager/Estimator progressed into a member of a 5 person Design Build team for Quick Turn-around full service building projects, VP - Operations Manager - Mechanical Contracting, VP - Division Manager - Piping fabrication and Installation, Opened my own Mechanical Contracting Business specializing in quick turn around shut down projects, Opened a specialty steel fabrication business specializing in building large scale prototypes, Designed, Patented, and marketed an Off-Road work platform (sold in 3 continents), retired then went back to work as a Regional Mgr - 8 states, wrote and facilitated a 2 day seminar "Financial Side of Contracting".
Coming to the Burningman last year rates as one of the best experiences I have shared with my wife, when you approach the Burningman with an open mind and meet the people, your approach to living life changes in a positive way. The Ethnic and Cultural diversity in the people is the key to the Burningman experience.
Never try to explain the experience to others who haven't already taken the leap to attend the Burningman in person. You won't be successful, it's far more than words. We live in Mid Central Illinois and would love to share Burningman and related travel experiences.

Nice to meet ya, Dave!
First burn this year; 41 years of surviving in Brazil through different careers too (Waiter, Barman, Computer Networks teacher, Private Pilot, Cashier, Manager of a LAN house, Telemarketing slave and these days a Lawyer). Will bring the missus with me ( We have been married for 13 years).
Job descriptions aside, big nerd here, loving books, comics, games, history and martial arts, as well as comparative religion and a couple of other stuff.
Cya in the playa!

I hope I get to meet BOTH of you. Sounds like some fun conversations.
It seems that this is my circus, and apparently those are my monkeys.
I'll get the net.

Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Lets make it happen. I will be hovering around some friends in Death Dome. Not part of the camp, but will be there a lot. Are you part of a camp?Kelsier wrote:I hope I get to meet BOTH of you. Sounds like some fun conversations.
