Hello Burners!

I am Cherish (playa name) and I am a VIRGIN!!! Burner that is I am looking for a needle in a haystack. I hope that one of you can help me make a long-time dream of mine come true. I am looking for a single Atlanta man who has a ticket to Burning Man this year, 2018. That is the easy part, hah!

Now the hard part. I am seeking a Tango partner in crime to dance the Tango with in Black Rock City out under the stars, in the night desert sky! I would like to spend the rest of the summer taking lessons until the burn. I will pay for the lessons, and work with you on lesson day(s), times and location. Lessons will probably be once or twice a week for about 90 minutes.

Previous dance experience, of any kind, would be great, but is not required. If you feel the music in you, that's great too!

A Tango partner is all that I am looking for, but if sparks fly after a passionate practice session, well, who knows...

Please, won't someone help me?

A long time ago, when Erik was still editor of the best daily newspaper on-Playa ...

Maybe 2004 or 2007 ... it’s all a blur now ...

There was a camp in the 9:00 plaza that brought out a legit ballroom parquet floor, and did a bunch of “Strictly Ballroom” dancing.

It was just about the time of the Swing revival so that might narrow the year. Most of it was swing but there was all kinds of ballroom action.

Anyways, love the story, love the drive and passion you’re putting into this. Make it happen!

Look at all the regional networks, meetups, regional burns etc. and find your partner.

And remember, even if you can’t do it pre-Playa, take whatever lessons you need to be happy with your dance mojo. You can always go and do an advert on BMIR radio on-playa, an ad in the playa newspapers, word of mouth search ... Magic happens out there and I’m pretty darn sure you can find a tango versed partner on the spot.
