Hi! I am attending my very first burn in 2019 and starting my preparations now. I’m a mom to 4 kids (they won’t be attending) and will be retiring from the Navy next July. This is going to be a liberating event for me, a chance to express myself and participate in a community that comes together to build this great week on the playa.

I’m very excited to attend. I have connected to my regional burn group and plan to attend their meet and greets to get to know veteran and other virgin burners before I attend. I have signed up for more info on volunteering at center camp cafe and as a temple guardian. And I’ll be working hard to contribute any way I can, while still enjoying the burn.

Any advice for a virgin burner would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome Aboard, shipmate. (Sorry, about the snark, but you know us sailors).

I'm a Navy vet myself, an ET who did 9 years. MyLarry, my husband, did the full 20, which really has been terrific for us. We lost him just last month, so next year will be tough.

Hey there, welcome to ePlaya!
When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me
