The Things Go

Postby Ugly Dougly » Sat Mar 25, 2006 8:13 pm

Hey we just came back from SFMOMA where I picked up a DVD:
The Way Things Go.
nside a warehouse, artists Peter Fischli and David Weiss build an enormous, precarious structure 100 feet long made out of common household items - tea kettles, tires, old shoes, balloons, wooden ramps, etc. Then, with fire, water, gravity, and chemistry, they create a spectacular chain reaction, a self destructing performance of physical interactions, chemical reactions, and precisely-crafted chaos worthy of Rube Goldberg or Alfred Hitchcock.

It's freakish. It's inspiring. Hey, it's cool.

Yup.. cool stuff. I picked up the DVD a while back. Not quite as meticulous as the Honda commercial (which was probably inspired by this) but much bigger with more different types of elements like chemical reactions, etc.
